Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there a lost and found? If you are trying to track down a lost item after the race you can send an email to raceinfo@westvolusiarunners.com Items found area can be turned into the WVR tent in the finish area.
- Are there any bathrooms along the course? Yes, There are several parks along the course which have public restrooms. We will also have port-o-johns at
water stop 2 ~mile 2.7
water stop 6 ~mile 6.5. - What time should I arrive for the half marathon/5K? Allow yourself plenty of time for parking and getting to the start line. Allow even more time if you are waiting until race day to pick up your race packet. You will want to be parked no later than 6:00 am for the half marathon start at 7:00am as you will have to walk over the bridge to start line. Please arrive no later than 7:15 am for 8:00am 5K start. See the parking FAQ for more information.
- Are there any energy drinks or nutrition available on the course? All water stops (10) on the half marathon course (except the very first one) will have Gatorade and water available. Gels will by available at:

Water Stop #9 (~mi 11) - How many water stops will be on the half marathon/5K courses? There are 10 water stops on the half marathon course. Each will be manned by students for one of the 10 Volusia County High Schools. Schools are competing for a Most Spirited Award to be determined by our runners. Remember to vote after the race for your favorite!
The 5K will have 1 water stop that you will hit at Mile 1 and again at Mile 2.
- Will there be any food available after the race? Yes! There will be a pizza and a variety of snacks at the finish line.
- How about beer? I really like beer! Yes! We like beer too. Ormond Brewing and Daytona Beverage will be at the finish line offering complementary beer for runners 21+
- Are there cut off times for the Half Marathon/5K? The Half Marathon route will be open for 3 1/2 hours until 10:30. All runners need to be on the bridge by 10:20. Runners may continue their race after the time limit by moving to the sidewalk. Water station support will end at 10:30. This is a law enforcement requirement due the the need to reopen the roads in a timely manner. The 5K route will be open for 11/2 hours until 9:30.
- Who is the beneficiary of Lighthouse Loop? 100% of the proceeds will be distributed evenly to the ten Volusia County High School Athletic Departments. Our goal is to raise at least $20,000 / $2,000 to each school. You may donate additional money to the cause when you register online.
- How many age groups are there? and how many awards will be given?

Top 3 Male & Female in Age Groups 9 & Under; 10-14, 15-19; 20-24; 25-29, 30-34, 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70-74, 75+ - Can I give someone my bib? Yes. You may transfer your bib to someone else. To do this the registered runner must initiate the transfer to another runner by logging into their RunSignUp account -- Go to My Registered Races -- Select your Lighthouse Loop registration --Select Manage Registration and follow steps for bib exchange. You will need the new runners email address. A link to complete the sign up process will be sent to the new runner to complete. Transfers must be completed by Wednesday October 23rd at 11:59pm
- Can someone else pick up my bib and packet if I can't make it to early packet pickup? Yes. You can have another runner, friend, or family member pick up your packet at early packet pickup. They will need your full name and date of birth. ID is not necessary.
- Can I drop down from the Half Marathon to the 5K? Yes. You can change events by logging into you runsignup account -- Go to My Registered Races -- Select your Lighthouse Loop registration -- Select manage registration and follow steps for event transfers. No refunds will be given for price difference.
- Is the Lighthouse Loop Half Marathon course certified? Yes, the Half Marathon is a USATF Certified Course #FL12076EBM
- Can I switch to the virtual race? Yes,I f you are registered for the on site run and need to switch to virtual you may do so before registration closes on Wednesday October 23rd at midnight. To do this log into your runsignup account, go to your profile, choose Lighthouse Loop from you upcoming races, select manage registration.
- Can I run with a stroller? Yes, strollers are fine. Please start at the back of the pack and be courteous to and aware of other runners.
